Gwynneth Thurston - Physical Education, Biology and Health and Social Care.
Gwynneth has joined the academy to assist with the students’ education as well as pastoral care. She has over 30 years of teaching experience at High School level. She recently retired from full time teaching, vacating the post of Vocational Education Co-ordinator. Her specialist subjects are Physical Education, Biology and Health and Social Care.

Gwyneth is herself a keen skier and is a member of the Norfolk Ski Club, where many very good racers have come from over the last few years.


Leonard Thurston - Mathematics and Science's
Leonard has also joined the academy and will be working to provide academic support for mathematics and science. Leonard along with his wife Gwyneth will also be assisting with Pastoral care. Recently retired after over 20 years in education Leonard has had extensive experience teaching his subjects.

He is a keen skier and has with worked with young people completing their Duke of Edinburgh Award. Leonard is also a member of Norfolk Ski Club where he is often seen on the slope.


Dr. Elisabeth Ilgner (Head of Languages)

Elisabeth is a specialist language teacher and can teach a host of languages including English, German, French, Italian, Russian and Latin.

Elisabeth who lives local to the academy studied for her Doctorate at the University of Innsbruck. She has a love for all foreign Languages. As well as teaching languages in Austria she has taught in Paris, France. She has also worked in the tourist industry translating for English, French, Italian and Russian guests.


Steven Pressland - Information Technology
Steven is our technical manager and uses his technical expertise working with both video and advanced computer technologies, to enable the coaches and athletes to analyse performance to the high standards required, to reach the top level of sports achievement.

Steven is highly qualified in the field of Information technology and has a Master of Science (M.Sc. (hons)) in Multimedia Technology & Systems - First Class Honors.

Steven has developed our web site and currently maintains it for us, we would recomend him to anyone that needs a web site developed, please contact us for Stevens details.


Andrew Hilton - Languages (English, French and German)
Andrew spent four years teaching German, French and Games in England before spending a season as a rep in Valloire, France. He has previously worked in Austria as a language assistant, living in a monastery in Schlierbach for nine months, and also studied in Vienna for four months. (Andrew will only be joining us for short periods this year and we will be announcing his full time replacement shortly)

Andrew also taught games and has been responsible for the schools under 13 and under 15 cricket teams. Andrew has been known to run marathons and his other hobbies include watching any sport, reading and skiing.
