Academic:
Mini's and children attending the academy for more than two weeks at a
time, (save where this is a UK School holiday or is attached to a UK School
holiday period), can only be accepted on the full academic programme.
The academic program is not available on school holidays.
Discount:
Families with 2 or more children at the academy will receive a 5% discount
on the second and subsequent child/children's fees. Subject to the minimum
charge of £560.00 per child/week.
Deposit:
Weeks do not have to be taken consecutively, but to benefit from the sliding
scale you will need to book a block number of weeks and pay the weekly
deposit. They can then be used as and when you want to use them during
the winter season.
A deposit of £100.00 for each week booked or £30.00 for each
weekend booked, must accompany your completed application form. No refunds
of deposits can be claimed against weeks not taken. Deposits for weeks
not taken cannot be offset against weeks taken.
Should the full amounts of weeks booked, not be taken, the price will
be adjusted to reflect the weeks taken on the sliding scale. An additional
invoice will be raised for the difference and payment will become due
on receipt of invoice.
Prices:
In addition to the weekly prices shown in this web site and/or bursary
or other special prices agreed upon in writng, there will be a supplementary
charge for FIS races and race and training camps held away from the academy.
This is to cover the cost of travel, accommodation extra coaching fees
etc and will be on top of the weekly amount.. For each racer, a "Race
Account" will be established. All expenses incurred by the academy
on a racer's behalf will be recorded by the academy in this account. Without
limiting the generality of the foregoing, these expenses may include:
race entry fees, coach's travel and per diem expenses, van fees, accommodations,
meals, race wax, and any equipment purchased on behalf of the racer. Racers
acknowledge that the balance in the Race Account is a joint and several
obligation of a racer. BARA will issue an invoice for this expense which
must be paid immediately.
Race Camps:
The BARSC, English and British race camps will be priced separately
and are not included in the above prices.
Additions:
In addition to the full year programme price, there will be a supplementary
charge for FIS races and race and training camps held away from the academy.
This is to cover the cost of travel, accommodation extra coaching fees
etc.
Fitness Testing:
The above prices do not include the specialized fitness testing and individual
fitness programmes from the Olympic Training Centre in Obertauern. We
are still in the course of negotiating a reduced price for our trainees
from the centre. The cost will be aproximately £125.00 less any
discounts we can get.
Lift Pass:
Lift pass prices are not included in the above price structure, for your
convenience these are shown in Euros. If booking more than 2 weeks at
the academy, book the season lift pass, it is much cheaper as it costs
almost the same as a 2 week pass. Then if you book another week or more
later in the season you already have the pass.
Sundry Expenses:
A sundry expenses float of £100.00 is recommended for children category
athletes, this must be paid in advance and will be accounted for at the
end of the trainees time at the academy, or if the float has been depleted
whilst the trainee is at the academy. This is necessary to cover any additional
items the trainees may require, as well as any medical/doctors fees in
case of injury and damages to personal ski equipment. The sundry expense
float is not compulsory and athletes are entitled to look after their
own expenses. However in the absence of a sundry expense float, BARA cannot
pay for any items for individual athletes, until a transfer of funds into
BARA's bank account for the amount of the expenditure, has been made.
Athletes Charter:
We do have a Athletes charter that each athlete must sign on arrival at
the academy, which is part of the application. This is to ensure that
reasonable and safe behaviour is practiced while the trainees are at the
academy. The academy reserves the right to discipline or ask the trainee
to leave the academy in the event of bad behaviour. The Parent would be
informed and collection/travel arrangements would be organised. No monetary
refund would be given.
Damage:
Damage of any kind caused by a trainee would have to be paid for. An invoice
would be raised and becomes payable immediately.
Refunds:
Due to the nature of ski training camps, cost are incurred ''up front''.
This pays for third party coaches and accommodation both of which are
very difficult to secure unless payment is made in advance. We are also
governed by numbers of trainees, for example if we take ten trainees to
a camp the cost has been divided by ten, should an athlete leave the camp
for any reason it is understandable that we cannot make any refunds.
Cancellation refunds can only be given on training booked at the acdemy
provided we have 3 weeks notice in advance of cancellation.
We are not responsible for refunds in cases of, illness, injury, delays,
loss or damage of personal equipment or belongings of any nature, race
entry criteria and/or cancellations.
We are not responsible for refunds if racers are bumped from a race even
if we have/have not organised the race entry, by the national squads or
for any other reason. It is the athletes, or parents of young athletes,
responsibility to check their/their children's eligibility to enter races
on any BARA advertised race camp. Where BARA accept to book the athletes
race entry with the appropriate body, whilst every care is taken to ensure
the booking is made and entry accepted, we will not accept responsibility
if the booking is not made by the official body and no refunds will be
given. Our coaching staff reserve the right to withdraw athletes from
a race if they believe the race/conditions are too difficult for the athlete
and their are concerns over the athletes safety, no refund will be given
in this respect.
If we are asked to transport any equipment or belongings where the athlete
is not travelling with the euipment, it is at the owners risk and nor
ours. No refunds will be given in cases of ski equipment not transported
to a race or training camp.
