We are aiming to train hard and effectively 5 days a week. This will normally be Monday to Friday, but may change due to race program and weather conditions. For those trainees attending only for the weekend, training will be available Saturday and Sunday. We will also provide race support for both weekly and weekend trainees.

Alpine race training will run from early morning till lunchtime, approximately 8.30-13.30 PM, there will be a healthy lunch on returning to the academy or a well packed lunch will be provided for those longer stays on the mountain, when the weather is good. Developing healthy eating habits forms a central part in daily life at the Academy. The fridge is well stocked, with pure juice drinks available in the mornings and fruit squash available throuighout the day. There will be light fitness training 2 to 4 times a week this will depend on he times they return from training on the mountain as well as the trainees tiredness levels, as they do get worked hard in the mornings on the slope, and it is not the academy's policy to exhaust there students. Tired trainees will not progress their skills in training, sometimes - less is more.

The winter season for most of our young trainees seems all to short. The training leading up to the Christmas races mostly consists of a week in October. We wanted to provide a facility that could better prepare our youngsters leading up to the start of the main season. We have managed to achieve this at Radstadt, by using the Dachstein Glacier or the Kaprun Glacier (Kitzsteinhorn) to train, which are both nearby, The Glaciers have guaranteed snow all year round. No longer is the Season all to short! Our trainees can train from November right up the middle of May.

OUR AIMS
We aim to provide the best quality race and fitness training available to young British Ski Racers from the Minis category up to and including Junior and Senior levels. This is why we have chosen Austria and in particular Radstadt, it is a very safe environment that offers little distraction from the focus of training. Its great for those that may not have traveled much before. The town itself is small and charming and within a 15 minute walk and there are shops, supermarkets and a very large Intersports within a short walk of the academy.

We will guarantee to always have a mix of quality coaches and trainers to further enhance our structured training program. These program will be carefully defined to cover all areas of development for the different age categories and abilities of our young racers.

Austria is the premier Alpine Racing Nation and has proven consistently within the sport that the expert technical knowledge, coaching ability and very high standards they have, has made them the best in the World. Our aim from the start was to tap into this valuable resource to give our children a fighting chance at international racing. Being based in Radstadt, Austria, and training alongside the local, regional and various national teams from all over the world, guarantees that we will have access to the highest calibre Alpine Race coaches and trainers that are available anywhere in the world.

CHILDREN
A full development program encompassing all aspects of alpine race training and ski preparation, has been put in place to establish a proficient skiing base, as well as developing the individual's technical skills and tactical awareness of the sport. We will run a children's race program, taking in events such as the BARSC, English and British Championships as well as other International children's races and the local and regional Austrian children's races. This will ensure they are well prepared and ready when it is time for them to enter the world of junior racing. For more information on the children's program, please visit our training program pages, which can be accessed from the left hand menus.

JUNIORS
We will run a comprehensive FIS race program concentrating primarily on FIS races in Europe. There are many FIS races in or near our base in Radstadt. This will enable our trainees to compete at FIS races without always having to endure long arduous drives to racing venues. They will thereby arrive fresh and ready at theses races and will be able to concentrate on giving their best efforts. For a list of European races for the coming season please click on the following link FIS. We will also keep an eye out for other FIS races that may be likely to produce better points for our young racers. These may be in West or East European countries, but being based in Austria means we are central to these destinations. If there are certain races that the trainee wishes to attend, we will also consider the feasibility of providing support for these. We will also of course, be supporting the British and English races. We also have race camps in South America in the summer season and are hoping to add Canada as another race venue in the near future. Our experience to date has shown that good points can be made at races in Eastern Europe and the good news for parents is that Eastern European races offers the least expensive race program, with prices far cheaper for accommodation and food then in western European countries. For more information on the junior FIS part time and full time program, please visit our training program pages, which can be accessed from the left hand menus.
